Hi..,

I am Using the Same Procedure.while Executing it gives Error message 'The transport failed to connect to the server'.

I have using SQL Server 2000.how to overcome the above problem.

how to sured SMTP Connection

I tried on Commant prompt - telnet SMTP Server 25

it replies 220 ESMTP ESMTP means SMTP Connection is available.

please suggest solution on same.

Yes

for eg

Declare @toemail nvarchar(50)

select @toemail=email from employees where id = 101

then pass this to the stored proc in the to parameter

The site which you refered is really good ! will work with that and inform you... there they are saying that how to execute the sp automatically but one more thing is there any posibility to send the recipient mail id as a values ...? because have to send it to different users !

Yes you can schedule ur stored proc to run on the basis that u need

hi !

is there any posibility to execute it automatically and send the recipient mail id as a values...?

because i have to send mail with link to the user who are all registered. this process is completed and i stored the information in sqlserver. but if the user didnt accept the link for three days from the sent date then have to send a reminder message as a mail to the user without any event ! am working in vb.net backend sqlserver 2005

for this i got the idea from this forum that its possible only in sql server and have to configure it sql configuration finished by your help and is there any posibility to execute it automatically and send the recipient mail id as a values...?

K I think then its smtp.ace-labs.com and not mail.ace-labs.com but check the port no too. u ask ur IT to configure the settings. Since in that I cant help bcooz unless ur mail settings are correct it wont work. To test my sp use ur gmail acccount

with following settings

Server smtp.gmail.com

User = your email

Pass Your Pass

Port 465

check it it will work

changed the smtp.xxx.com to mail.xxxx.com not yet received the mail...?

one thing i have to say ! we used the below items in stored procedure

http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/sendpassword

but when i run this in browser output is "Page can not be displayed" whether i have to change the address...?
