im using blogengine whenever i entered new record in user.xml ,blogengine not allow me to log in , but when i checkin the file and again restart application everything is working fine.

Hi guys,

You people are right, the BlogEngine.NET is a very good and easy tool to setup your blog in .NET platform. and i found Wordpress (wordpress.org) tool is good to setup a blog with PHP its also an easy and goood tool.

I just want to know that which is best in .NET i found BlogEngine.NET is good,

Same as blogging tools i found some good CMS like joomla, Mambo but the problem is all tehse are for PHP and i wann a CMS in ASP.NET, so can u plrease tell me and cms name whichi is developed in ASP.NET which is easy to use.

one name i know DotNetNukes. any other???

.Text was indeed a blog engine that used SQL server. It got incorporated into Community Server. You have alternative blogging engines nowadays like dasBlog, blogengine.net, subtext, ... There are also free blog services like googles blogger.com service.

Hi Prashat, I really dont know abt the .text but if u want to have blogging platform in asp.net 2.0 with c# i would suggest u to go for BlogEngine.net.

Blog Engine.net is free and opensource and even its easy to integrate in existing web site and easy to customize.

I started with BlogEngine 1.0 now i have upgraded easily into newer version.

You can easily find information in that platform.

So go for it.

Hi,

not standard out of the box that I know of. But you can extend dasBlog with custom macros. If you want to learn how you can do it take a look here: Creating custom macros for dasBlog.

First of all i would like to thanx u for ur quick response.

I have already spend so many hours in BlogEngine.net and i have even posted question in that forum u suggested. I don't have much time to spend on dasblog, So before exploring dasblog i would like to know that is this dasblog support way i want? I mean i want recents blogs summary to be displayed in my home page and in each dealer's blog in each dealer page.

Hi Kris,

Among those platform, i found blogEngine.net bit easier but the problem is that they are using UrlRewriting and i dont have concept of that.

And one more thing is that i need blog for each dealer in its own dealer page and recent post of blog in my home page.

How can i do this through that blogEngine.net ? Does that bolg engine support such integration?

Hi,

and welcome to the ASP.NET forums.

.Text was one of the first, as I recall it, blog engines for .NET and got integrated in Community Server (upon which these forums also run).

I don't know if the code can be found or that it got upgraded for 2.0 as I didn't follow .Text anymore. The version that's in Community Server 2007 is for 2.0.

Other blog engines, built with .NET, are:

Subversion, dasBlog, blogengine.NET. Some of these use a database to store the data, while others use XML.

Also, Microsoft created a free tool to easily create blog posts with it: Windows Live Writer. I like it.

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I m new to asp.net n blogging platform.

I need a blogging platform to integrate it in my existing website.

Basically my website is about dealers and i want each dealer to post their own blog, and in admin side control of all blogs posted by the dealers.

Can anyone help me with this.
