hello.
app_data is supposed to hold database files. i wasn't aware that you were not able to get resources placed inside that folder (i was only under the impression that the database files weren't returned)...interesting...

Hi again,

I solved the problem by puliing out the Image folder from the App_Data folder.The App_Data must be an special folder or something for system use. Maybe I should RTFM next time.

Hi all,

I am using the Beta 2 MVS and created a simple master page with 2 images that are stored in the App_Data/Images directory.

When I create my page that uses the master page in the designer the master page images are correctly displayed in the faded background.

But when running in Debug mode or without debugging the images never displayed. So I cut and paste the image link to to my browser and get the 403 error FORBIDDEN.

<sigh> so I think permissions. Since only two roles are used and I login as one of the roles I give permissions to both roles to the image directory. No Joy. anyway I notice that everyone has permissions to the App_Data directory and below.

For the record I am using server-side image control after reading many post about a similiar problem with master pages. And yes I am using the tilde character in my link. Actually Beta 2 puts it in there automatically.

The master page is in the same directory as the referencing page. I tried different locations for the master with nil results.

So to make a long story short, has anyone experienced this type of behavior and by chance have a solution.
