The shortcut key of "View in Browser", Ctrl+Shift+W, as you mentioned above, is not available in VS2005 WAP/WSP, even not in VS2008.

Yes Now i tried that with no luck , I'm unable to see the "view in browser" in context menu ,

Note that I mentioend that i created a new windows account ,and since the visual studio will be clean for the new user , there is no need to reset the settings and the user data ,

But i did, I reset the user data and seettigns by running the mentioned commands with no luck !

"view in browser " is the most context menu item that is used by the developer ! so its very imprtant to have it in aspx context menu ...

Can Anyone tries that , please someone tries to create a new Web application project , and then open an aspx desginer , then right click on the page ,

Did you see the "View in browser" Option ?

No doubt that it is just right there both file menu and context menu popuped from the Solution Explorer

But the problem is that I cannt see it in the context menu popuped from the html editor region.

I created a windows test account , and configured visual studio 2005 to use web development settings,

then i created a new Web application proejct , Actually "View in Browser" is available under file options , but I want to see it in the context menu when i right click on the aspx page ,

it was available in this Update ,( WAP update for Visual studio 2005) ,So that's the problem ,

After Installing SP1, its not available in the page context menu, and the shortcut you mentioned is not working ...

for website project , there is no problem , the problem in WAP projects ...

Hi,

I verify this option after installing Visual Studio 2005 SP1, and it is there.

Can you see it under the File option while current page is aspx page? Shortcut key of "View in Browser" is Ctrl+Shift+W.

You can try to run "devenv /resetsettings" from Visual Studio command to reset settings.

You also can try to run "devenv /resetuserdata" to reset Visual Studio to its out-of-box state.

I hope this helps.

I installed Visual studio SP1, the "view In Browser " option disappeared !

So as i expected , there is something wrong with SP1 , it doesn't support " View In Browser "

that's Weird ! Because it was available in this Update , and as mentioned by vs team SP1 will include that update !

So what wrong here ? waiting for reply from visual studio 2005 Team !

My problem just occurs in VS2005 SP1. I remember the historical VS 2003 had the funcationality.
Luckily, it's sure available in VS 2008. But I really want it using the VS2005 WAP.

OS: VISTA Ultimate, VS 2005 ( without SP1 , just WAP Update for VS 2005 )

I have it in my WAP project,I didn't installed SP1 because I recently formatted the laptop and installed Vista ,

since SP1 requires a lot of time to be installed , I decided to just install the Web application projects update for VS 2005, which is an old and small setup (about 2 MB)

But it seems it doesn't available any more, I have an old version of that update which i downloaded before a year and i recently used it to install the update ...

I downloaded it from this link ( scott gu post) http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2006/04/05/442032.aspx

but it seems that its removed and instead , you need to install SP1 which contains the WAP update ,

But it seems that the SP1 doesn't include "View in Browser" , Its really strange ,

Because when I was working on XP , and i was installed SP1 , I remember that "view in browser" wasn't available in my Vs 2005 WAP projects.

Not sure whats going on , But i recommended to Check for an updates to SP1 or VS , maybe its will get fixed !

I'm going to install SP1 today and see what well happen.

Hi, forums

I do not find the "View in Browser" command from the context menu in the .aspx Desgin/Source view in VS2005 WebApplication project. It's right seen when I select and right-click the .aspx file from the solution explorer.

I known the WebApplication project is added in as a part of SP1. Does this add-in not really support this functionality or I am missing some appropriated setting?

If former, how I can implement this requirement by customing a VS add-in? Actually, I have grasped the ability to add an menuitem to the context menu, but I have no idea how to fire the build-in "View in Browser" event.
