Consume an ASP.NET Web Service with PHP

I have created a Web Service in ASP.NET and also an ASP.NET client to consume this service. The Web Service uses Windows Authentication to recognise the client, so that not just anyone can access it.

We have another existing system built in PHP, which we would like to be able to access the ASP.NET Web Service - does anyone know how this would be possible, bearing in mind the security complications of having to authenticate the consumer?

Hello:

I am running VS.Net 2005 and have installed the PHP to ASP.Net Mirgration Assistant with no problems. However, I can NOT accuess the GUI interface what so ever. It is Very frustrating...

I am trying to use the command prompt but I can't figure out the DOS syntax.

PHPConvert[.exe] { <DirectoryName> [/Out <DirectoryName>] [/NoLog | /LogFile <filename>] [/NoLogo] [/Verbose] [/ProjectName <ProjectName>] [/ForceOverwrite] }

Can someone post a simple example of the syntax to use in the command prompt??

The file i want to convert will be in the same folder as the application and I don't need any fancy triggers set, just convert the file.

my string is 13 characters and my key is about 34, can someone help with this solution?

hello,

I have a php site which is operational. I am working on a windows platform with php 5/IIS -1.1
I have defined the virtual directory and most of the files it has are .php files, it has just 2 .aspx files in it.
I am now trying to call an aspx page from my php page, but I get the following error.

the above code is used for using the output generated by the page chkauth.asp.

I was able to make out the last method i.e. preg_match(). but help me with the file() method.

I tried to install the PHP to ASP.NET migration assistant on my computer, but it insists that I have to have .NET framework 1.1.4322 installed. Is there any way I can install this program without downgrading my .NET framework version?

Nothing seen under design view after convertion

I did convert using the migration assist from php to asp .net/c#. Now i dont see any user control or anything under the designer, i do see the html view and some converted code within, but no corresponding design view, or the design view is empty. I am fairly new to asp/php, so some guidence would be great. Or the migration assist doesnt convert the user control (like text boxes or other control with in a given php page).

I downloaded the tool, but when I go to File > Open > Convert it gives me an option for Java conversion or for 2005 upgrade. But it does not give me the option for the new PHP converter.

Any ideas how to get it to show up?

I did project in both ASP and PHP. Now, I am learning ASP.net. I think, I can catch ASP.net very easily.

So it means I can do project in ASP or PHP or ASP.net.

I am going to do my own e-commerce website for selling product online.
But here is the problem. I don’t have any senior person who can guide me.
That’s why I need assistance from all of you.

I don’t know which language is best or which of the following combination I should choose---

ASP and MSSQL

ASP.NET and MSSQL

PHP and MYSQL

Really I don’t know what to do. I am very confused after reading all those articles from websites for comparisons of all these languages.

Please help me I wants to know which is best for security, speed and for businesses like small to big and for money wise too.

And my database is going to be from small to very big.

Defining CONSTANTS in ASP.NET

Hi guys
I am migrating from PHP to ASP.NET. Still learning the techniques. Defining a global constant in ASP.NET, using .config file and the <appSettings/>, is where I need some help on.

in php you can define a constant like so:


define('DIR_INCLUDES', 'includes/'); 
  echo  DIR_INCLUDES; // would output as:  includes/

and if i have a subfolder inside the include folder then I could define it like


define('DIR_BOXES', DIR_INCLUDES.  'boxes/'); 
  echo DIR_BOXES; // would output as: includes/boxes/

You get the picture..it helps me dynamically include files like so:


require(DIR_BOXES. 'box.best_selling.php');

And I have a config file where I have all the global variables that my php application can access.

ASP.NET has web.config file where I can add a key and it's value


<appSettings>
    <add key="DIR_INCLUDES" value="includes/" />
  </appSettings>

Question is what's the best way I can define my DIR_BOX in this particular senario and what is the best practices for setting up the configuration variables? I haven't found any good article regarding directory file structure and so on.

I just had a play with PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant. It looks very cool.

I would like to convert www.cpgnuke.com DragonFly to ASP.NET. On a convert I got 1470 errors.

I guess I can ignore the conversion warnings but have to fix the conversion issues (errors)?
