Make sure you don&amp;#39;t have stale network drives which are offline. It happens when I point the Open Website dialog at a folder with many large zip and rar files. I just bought a new machine, and I&amp;#39;ve installed VS 2008 and SP1. I can create new websites etc, but as soon as I click on the &amp;quot;Open Website&amp;quot; on the File menu, it freezes. I&amp;#39;ve used VS 2008 on other machines in the past without any issues.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;ve tried reinstalling both VS 2008 and SP1, but it doesn&amp;#39;t work. &lt;/p&gt;

Judging from what I see in the dump, VS is stuck in OS OpenFile/OpenFolder dialog call which is busy enumerating files in ZIP archives.
