&lt;p&gt;You can just return the raw data table to the client via [WebMethod] access and then manually parse the JSON object on the client. You can also databind directly to it...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I already can get datatables via a webservice to the client if I render them server side (building the whole table serverside).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But how can I do this in a better way? How does this work via a &lt;font color=#0000ff size=2&gt;DataTableConverter&amp;nbsp;?&amp;nbsp; XML?&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you have any ideas or pointers I hope you can share them with me.&lt;/p&gt;
