we found one workaround.. go to web.config, change the tagprefix for Atlas from "asp" to something alse "foo"; and update your pages.. it should work..

How about naming back to "atlas" lol ..like it was when it was working fine in the earlier releases that the community did all the debugging for you!

I just repro the intellisense issue with contentplaceholder with update panel; we looked with the devs and It is a bug at design time, the page will work as expected at runtime!!..

Sorry about it.. i will see if we get a workaround

I have added the registry key as mentioned earlier in this thread and then referenced the Microsoft.Web.Extensions.dll from the add reference dialog. I also referenced the Microsoft.Web.Preview.dll in this same manner. I am using the UpdateProgress control on a page and it is working with markup intellisense, etc... So the Microsoft.Web.Preview control reference seems to be working perfectly.
However, all of the Core controls contained in Microsoft.Web.Extensions.dll are working at runtime but no markup intellisense, etc... Furthermore, any regular <asp:> control such as an <asp:Label> that is contained within the <contenttemplate> of the <asp:UpdatePanel> gives the "unknown element" error as well in the markup.

I'm having the EXACT same issues with VSPro. I've tried everything in this thread along with everything in the docs linked as well.

We'll try to repro your issues under VSTS.

You should have markup intellisense for content within the UpdatePanel's <contenttemplate>. As for the changes, please refer to the following document: Changes between the ASP.NET AJAX (“Atlas”) CTP and the v1.0 Beta Release UpdateProgess control is being moved as described here: http://ajax.asp.net/default.aspx?tabid=47, then go to the feature matrix tab.

I have already done everything described in that document unfortunately.

I too have exhausted all posted fixes with NO results.

Next time Ill know better and stick with what was working!!!
