Thanks for the reply. could you tell me how I would generate a new FormsAuthenticationTicket? This currently gets done for me automatically when I call the FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage (at least that's my perception). What would I need to call after the user has made the change to their user id? Thanks for your help. Mark
