I'm sure you and @marcind have some clue about what you are talking about, but I'm totally lost. Is $select some part of the OData query syntax? I have found Web API very useful for production scenarios and hope to roll some items out soon. I also have no
love for OData, so that may be why I don't understand any of your points above, if that is how $select relates.
If you are using OData, why not just use OData? How does Web API factor into your platform decision? I'm very confused by your seeming animosity towards the library and the team.
