Hi 1.) It depends on what you're doing, but for the purposes of running a database as a backend to a website, I think it's generally agreed that MySQL is better; FoxPro's not really designed for that sort of usage, whereas MySQL is. 2.) You can download the
Windows installer for MySQL from http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql-4.0.html 3.) If I remember correctly, you can connect to a MySQL database through an OLEDB or ODBC driver, but MySQL advertise two managed providers for MySQL, and so it would make sense
to one of those: http://www.mysql.com/downloads/api-dotnet.html 4.) Presuming you already have a working ASP.NET setup, once you've downloaded MySQL and a MySQL .NET data provider, then you've got what you need. There are no fees or additional items to purchase.
