i've got a datalist showing images, when a user clicks an image it gets deleted (postback to server that updates the SQL entry for the image) i'm using an animationextender to fade out the image after click (to give the visual sensation of seeing it dissapear
because you deleted it) this works, but the problem is that after the postback (the sql update command) finishes, the faded image pops back into full opacity/view. this generally means the user clicks, sees the fade out, and about 2 seconds later it pops back
how can i like.... force the datalist to not "refresh" the entry after postback, so i don't get this effect?
PS: incase it's relevant, i do have the entire datalist inside an updatepanel (for purposes of paging functionality without the entire page reloading for user)
PS2: i've tried enclosing just the linkbutton that causes th postback, in its own updatepanel. this doesn't seem to have any positive or negative effect on this issue.
i've been trying to figure this out for a week now on my own, i'd really appreciate any guidance any of you smarter then people could supply. thanks in advance for your attention and time.
