abombss Sorry Rob wasn't trying to beat you up personally, I just feel strongly about this one.
Passion's a good thing, and I'm learning quickly to toughen up now that I'm a Blue Badge. It's still weird when people tell call me Microsoft :).
abombss My vote is drop UpdateFrom completely and make two methods, UpdateFromEncoded and UpdateFromDecoded
