I guess you implemented instantiation of child controls in template inside CreateChildControls() (Ok, there are 2 CreateChildControls() ) as well as applied metadata attributes?
Can you save me (or us) the time on this and post/email your code?
It is not crystally clear how the the subcontrol dropped on design surface (and reflected in Source View aspx) is synchronized with code-behind (C#)?
again there are 2 CreateChildControls()
