I'm using VS 2005 Professional Editon.  I'm trying to open a remote web site on my company LAN.  I get this error:

"Unable to open the web 'https://...' There is no server at port 443 at 'https://...' You have selected the Connect Using SSL option.  This connection problem may indicate that the server does not support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) communications., or that SSL communications is on a different port number."

The problem is the 'Connect using SSL" check box is NOT checked. I had trouble connecting to the remote web site because the Front Page Server extensions were not installed.  They are installed now, but during that problem resolution - I check the SSL box once.

It now appears to be stuck on all the time.  The server I am connecting to does not have SSL support so obviously this isn't going to work.

Does anyone know how to turn this off or is there another issue going on here?

    Hello ParrishTT,

Interestingly, I have the exact same problem you have described. All of a sudden after checking the SSL box, I can no longer open or create web sites. I have found very little infor on this subject. I noticed you posted quite a time ago. Did you get this figured out? Please provide info on correcting this issue.

    Thanks, Tony
