    Hi,
I have created a basic Item template in VS 2005 pro. I was able to install it while the template was still in the cache.

I tried to create a vsi file as I need to pass this on to a colleague, created a vscontent file etc. and zipped it all up as a vsi.

When I open the vsi - it finds my template and reports the right name etc. If I 'view' the files it shows me my zip file and my vscontent file in Explorer. I can open up the zip and see my files.

Pressing 'Finish' when promted to results in the message :

The item Teds_Template.zip could not be copied because it was not found.

    Teds_Template.zip is my code

Any ideas why the vsi installer cannot see the zip ONLY when its trying to install it (ie I can VIEW it from inside the vsi installer (using the 'view files in windows explorer' link).

NB I do have Winzip installed - so could the installer be getting confused by a difference between a 'Microsoft' zip file and a 'Winzip' zip file ???.

    Thanks

    regards

    Graham

Well - maybe Microsoft could comment - but the issue has been resolved (seemingly).

I unregistered the extension 'zip' from Winzip and associated it with 'Compressed (zipped) folders'.

It still complains when sendto -> Compressed folder is selected - that the zip extension is not set correctly (even though it is), but it now creates the right type of zip files, and the Installer seems to be able to accept them :-O.
