I'm new to Windows Hosting an am looking into deploying the "Consolidated Server Platform Architecture". My question has to do with the hardware set-up and configuration of each of the servers in that structure. The architecture references a six (6) server deployment with default names: ISA01, Collab01, FE01, MPSSQL01, BE01, and AD01. In Building each server, I was planning on using Dual Intel Xeon Systems. Should I have a single RAID50 drive array to which to install the OS and all services/applications/data stores to or install the OS to a Single 300 or 400Gig drive and use the RAID50 array for services/applications/data stores? Being new to servers I have no clue what is the acceptable standard. Can anyone familliar with the Consolidated Server Platform Architecture please reccomend some hardware configurations for each of the six (6) named servers. Thank you for your time and patients.
