Hello

In VS 2003 I could change the ID of a control in the design view by going to the ID in the properties window and typing it in, now when I try this in VS 2005 I can type the new ID in but when I click away it reverts back to either the default ID ("ie Textbox1") of what ever it was before.

Am I missing something or is this meant to happen?

did you either press the enter key, or tab out of it?

Ok I have been testing things now.

I created a new wesite and it let me change the ID.
But then the site I was refering to above still wont let me change it in design view whether I juct click away, tab or press enter.

May be just a one off?
Sorry I should have tested this with other sites first!

I'm having this problem now. Its not letting me change a controls ID from the properties section.
I'm having to switch to source view every time :(

anyone know of any fix for this ?

I thought I wasn't going mad.. this has happened again since my last post!

I can't work out exactly what I am doing differently though that some times it works and sometimes it doesn't!

Maybe a bug!?
