Just wondering if anyone else experienced the following error when uploading a module to a clean DNN4 install

ExceptionSystem.ObjectDisposedException: Cannot access a closed file. at System.IO.__Error.FileNotOpen() at System.IO.FileStream.Seek(Int64 offset, SeekOrigin origin) at System.Web.HttpRawUploadedContent.TempFile.GetBytes(Int32 offset, Int32 length, Byte[] buffer, Int32 bufferOffset) at System.Web.HttpRawUploadedContent.CopyBytes(Int32 offset, Byte[] buffer, Int32 bufferOffset, Int32 length) at System.Web.HttpInputStream.Read(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 count) at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipInputStream.FillBuf(Int32 size) at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipInputStream.GetNextEntry() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.ReadZipStream() in C:\DotNetNuke_4.0.0_Source\Library\Components\ResourceInstaller\PaInstaller.vb:line 92 at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ResourceInstaller.PaInstaller.Install() in C:\DotNetNuke_4.0.0_Source\Library\Components\ResourceInstaller\PaInstaller.vb:line 69

Yes. I'm experiencing the same problem. Haven't found a fix yet.

NT Server 2003 and NETWORK_SERVICE has full control of root. Edit: SQL Server 2000 with connectstring to new database defined in both places and configured as done in previous installs.

My best guess is that it's the Resources.zip that's in the module.zip that's causing the problem. I've uploaded a few on my test site and it seems that any that had a resources.zip in them blew up on install while those that didn't uploaded seemlessly. I've entered it as a bug... http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?ID=2117

I wish having a resources.zip file was a silver bullet but I have a module that doesn't have it (no localization) and it is also failing in the exact same fashion (it doesn't have any Zipfiles inside it for that matter)... So that may be part of the issue but its not the whole thing.

Thanks, but not in my case. I'm having difficult uploading anything. Simply navigating to the File Manager page and clicking Upload produces the following error:

A critical error has occurred. Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using in configuration or in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.

I had some general install issues with 4.0. I thought they might be related to having the BETA VS2005 installed. I downloaded .NET 2.0 and installed. After that, the DNN install went smoothly. But I'm unable to upload files, even simply skins.

I plan to install release version of VS and SQL tomorrow. I'll let you know if that affects my problems.

There are issues with Beta2 of .NET2 and VS2005, so please install release versions, and try again.

So that may explain the issue for developers, but is there an explination when this is sitting on a standalone server with nothing more than IIS, .NET 2.0 (release),  Sql express (release), Correct file permissions (as per 2.x and 3.x) AND no Resources.zip?

Hmmm looks like I was wrong with my guess that it had to do with .zip files within the module. I was basing it on my own experiences with nothing beta related installed.

Hmmmm...  It's all release versions on my end.  And since I am also getting this error on a server and not on a development box, VS2005 isn't even installed.

I've also noticed this posted a couple times before.  Is someone looking into this?

Same here - I'm getting the "Cannot access a closed file" on various modules (they don't have a resources.zip).  Some modules install OK though.  All on a system that's never had any betas installed.

Same thing here when installing either my "New Install" version of the Weather module, or when trying to install the DotNetNuke Forums module.

The server is my 2003 development server, which didn't have any prerelease version of asp.net 2.0 installed, only the final version released a couple days ago.
    Thanks,
    Oliver
