HI

I am new to DNN, want to install it om remote server. I have created the MS DB. Edited the web.config as needed. and installed thru www.mysite.com/install......aspx. The strange was the first time the installation went very well, the DB created.. but i got the error msg to edit the <customErrors mode=off>, which i did and upload. Nothing happens!!!!

Now when i am installing a new DNN after removing the remote files and creating a new DB. I get the msg:

"The page cannot be displayed ...... ",  As if the the URL does not exit??? very strange

I tried the whole procedure on a subdomain, the same msg...No such URL exits

Can anyone help me??

It sounds like the permissions have not been set for IIS in your DNN directory.  The ASP.User account should be given full permissions. 

If you don't have access via IIS and you're using a 'discount' hosting provider (like GoDaddy), you'll need to create additional directories and give them permissions as well. I had the same problems on GoDaddy and finally worked thru the errors by following the instructions found in the forums.
