International characters not displaying correctly in Email confirmation messages

Votre compte a été mis à jour et comprend le rôle de sécurité suivant. In fact the french accents are being replaced but only here and not in the localized version of the site.

Thanks for your reply WestHam. Unfortunately modifying the.vb files is too much for me as I can't manage to recompile the solution . I suppose I'll try to shorten the message and stick to universal characters.
