It has been suggested in another thread that some sort of gallery or exchange for purely open source code related to DNN might be a good resource. We're talking about ideas, code snippets, etc. -- not necessarily full-blown modules and the like and definitely nothing commercial. I am interested in this idea and would be willing to host something as part of my House of Nuke site, but there are a few questions to be answered first.

1) Does such a resource already exist?

2) How many people would be interested in using such a resource?

3) How many people would be willing and able to contribute to such a resource?

I have been looking for a way to build another "neighborhood" for this great community, and I think this might be what I was looking for. Any and all feedback and discussion would be appreciated. Thoughts? Comments? Questions? Suggestions?

This is defiantly a good idea and I would be able to contribute to such a resource. I think I would also be a good idea if we could have a section where we could dissect the workings of DNN, such as the security framework and data framework. One of the things I have been frustrated with is documentation and examples on how the DNN works, I've found a lot of beginners tutorials and examples, but nothing that goes a bit deeper than that.

I will work on fleshing out this idea. Right now, I am thinking of having a categorized repository for source code along with an area for articles that can go into detail about the code contributions or DNN core workings. I also want to include an area for a wishlist: module/skinobject/code add-ons wanted (non-core stuff).

i would be extremely interested in a forum that discusses the "inner workings" of dnn...it seems like this piece is definitely lacking.  i am trying to study the security and how it works, but it's extremely difficult without any guidance from documentation.

I see this resource as being something like the Code Project but focused on DotNetNuke. It would have to be easy to browse or search to find relevant code and information. It would also have to get good contributions from the community and be highly visible. Any and all suggestions and comments welcome and appreciated!

Well, in nearly two months, the survey only got 25 responses. However, they were all unanimously in favor of such a resource. Anyone else out there ready to get involved? I will be propose a plan within the next week or so. If you have any thoughts on this or really want to help, please contact me.

In particular, any suggestions for naming the resource or structuring it would be especially welcome! So far, I have "NukeXchange" for a name and "something like CodeProject" for a structure.
