I can easilly replace timer with settimeout, so I am just wondering why timer does not fire event in firefox?

Not sure what you are trying - but Timer definitely works across all browsers. Perhaps you could show what you are doing, how you are using setTimeout etc.

Sure, but my code was cutted from previous post. Generally, I am trying to enhance user experience when loading my page. My idea was to make page which first show some loading bar (works fine I think) until databinding from ws is complete. Finally, when topics are loaded I wanted to load background image. So..I want enable timer when databinding is complete and after second draw a background image.

Shouldn't you just do the work from the web service's callback function?

There is no reason to use Atlas for this work...and I think it was not good idea at all to load background after page, because users are not used to this behavior
