    I'm looking for some people that are well known with the installation of dotnetnuke to test out the new installer for dnn.
    You can download it from my website for now (until I can put it on the dnn website). (You need to register to activate the download link).

    <snip />

    All problems / enhancement requests and such should preferably be discussed in the Installer sub-project forum on http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsProjects/tabid/795/forumid/62/scope/threads/Default.aspx

    I'll help out but can't get to it until later this weekend or early next week. Its good news to have learned that two installer initiatives are underway.

    I thought I paged through all items listed at snowcovered.com but do not recall observing any 'installers' though the oversight could easily have been mine noting it remains my assumption that snowcovered is or has become the defacto repository for such announcements and would have, or should have, or could have listed installers. Did I cover all the politically correct bases there? I sure don't want to be confused with a whiner ;-)

    Geert,
    Do you have any plans to open the source for your installer?
    Thanks.

    The installer is a DotNetNuke Sub-project and as such also open-source.
    The source will be available at a later time (when I feel it is up to release ... :-) )

    Some more info:
    The installer is created with Inno Setup (no vb.net, apart from the ftp code which is called using COM).
    Inno Setup has a scripting language that is a subset of Delphi.
    The installer also can be used from the command line. Samples of this are in the batchfiles that are in the zipfiles.

    Good work Geert. I ran into a small problem when using the installer but will post to the sub-project forums about it after I do more testing.
