I created an RSS news feed source using ASP.NET on a Web server on my local Intranet.  When I try to point a DNN News module at it I get the error:

Could Not Connect To http://ServerName/FolderName/RSS.aspx. You Should Verify The Source Address Is Valid And That Your Hosting Provider Has Configured Their Proxy Server Settings Correctly.

If I go into host --> host settings and remove the proxy settings that let me out of my company's firewall it then works but all the news feeds that point at internet addresses break.  How can I make them all work at the same time (local feeds and internet feeds)?

I did find that I could move the asp.net feed to the DNN Web server and use "localhost" in the url settings for the location of the news module but this is not how I want to do it.

I tried adding the local server ip address and name to the hosts file of the DNN Web server to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

I'll need to review that issue.  Now, I use RSS modules behind a firewall at work, but it seems to be working ok.  I've not put anything in the Host Settings Proxy fields, nor in the newsfeed module settings.  What ASP.Net feed are you talking about, a custom created newsfeed of your own, or the some other publically available?

It is a custom news feed I created that shows output from an asp.net application I wrote (that captures improvement suggestions in a manufacturing facility).  It seems that I need a news module setting of "intranet" or "internet" ("bypass proxy settings" or "use proxy settings") to be able to use both types of news feeds.  Thank you for looking at this issue...

Have you tried just setting up the newsfeed using the proxy settings at the module level, rather than the setting up the Host proxy settings?

How do I setup the newsfeed using proxy settings at the module level (I don't see where I can do that).

    Thanks!
