I would love to see some proof of a url that has this property set and still gets the operation aborted error.  Anyone got a url that I can look at?

This seemed to work for me in the skin index.ascx file:

    <dnn:MENU runat="server" id="dnnMENU" Display="Horizontal" DelaySubmenuLoad="true" ...

NOTE: DelaySubmenuLoad="1" threw a boolean parse exception.

I had the same issue and had to put 'true' in the skin.

This issue is still reproduceable on version 3.0.13

This error ONLY occurs when you are logged in as Admin or Host.

I suspect no one will now be reading this thread, but for what it's worth:

    - problem occurs on my hosted site (with WebHost4Life - presumably Win2K3) but does not happen on my test server (Win2K) from the same IE6 client - so is not purely IE-related
    - only happens when accessing the Gallery (latest download dated 14 June)
    - happens with any of the standard DNN skins - horizontal or vertical menus

Haven't tried the delay 'fix' yet.

This problem was one of the hardest issues for me to track down.  A couple weeks ago I was able to reproduce it on my pc by doing some crazy things.  Put the menu on a site that is a slow server, load a VPC instance with Windows98 on it, make sure the Check for new versions of stored pages is set to Automatically, and make sure I am hovering over a menu during page load.  This would allow me to get the error in 1 of every 10 or so requests.  It appears to be a combination of things that causes the error, one of which is slow page loading...

The good news is I was able to track down what was causing it for me and am on longer able to get the error (even without setting the delaysubmenuload).   The bad news is that it was not in time to make the DNN 3.1 release.  However, you can get version 1.6.1.0 from my site and try it for yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect you are right that slow page loading is a key factor. My Webhost4life shared server account is frankly beginning to look incapable of supporting a DNN3 site with light traffic - initial page loads of over a minute are not unusual!

But sadly version 1.6.1.0 did not solve it for me.

Yeah, I experienced this issue when I was at the max range of my wireless, when it would drop out some times and therefore be very slow, but I experienced it in 3.1, but I don't know if its a correctable problem, it appears to be an IE problem.

Channel 9 mentions this problem briefly, and says that it might have to do with Javascript and innerHtml, so that would tend to make me think that it has to do with the menus, but not necessarily because of a bug in the menus, but something about slow loading and the menus.

I think if you d'l the latest menu from SolPart you will find that the situation is much better. (perhaps eliminated, as we have not been able to reproduce it)

so try downloading v. 1.6.1.0 of the menu.

Extract any one of these packages and copy the following files:

SolpartWebControls.dll goes into the bin folder
spmenu.js goes into the controls\solpartmenu folder
spmenucaps.config goes into the controls\solpartmenu folder

Have tried latest version of SolPartMenu - no joy.

I suspect that my problem may be more fundamental and possibly confused by various upgrades of core and Gallery with existing image data. I am now on 3.1 of core but am frankly not sure what version of Gallery - every version seems to have been called 3.0.10 beta, but I have tried the latest download shown as 6/14 on the DNN site and I am now getting the following critical error before event getting to the operation aborted error:

    ModuleId: -1
    ModuleDefId: -1

I think I will have to try a clean install of 3.1 with a new database (with and without Gallery) before I can really do any sensible diagnostics.

Please add: DelaySubmenuLoad="True" to the solpart properties. Don't use the DelaySubmenuLoad="1" as described in this thread.

    Hello All

I  am experiencing problems in the SOLPART submenus in Internet Explorer 6.0.
For some reasons the submenus displayed using [SOLPARTACTIONS] on module container(top left) gets shifted towards right side
This does not happen using Firefox browser.

I am using the default container in DNN <DNN BLUE Image Header Color Background> and my DNN version is latest(3.1.1)
    So far,
I have tried  applying DelaySubmenuLoad="true" on the SOLPARTACTIONS on above container.

    But no success

Please help if this sounds remotely familiar

    --Thanks
