I found an article which may help point you in the right direction, depending on the configuration of your DNS server.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/advanced/help/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/advanced/help/sag_DNS_imp_ManagingAuthorityRecords.htm

If you are running into a specific problem creating the NS record, give the full details and I'll see if I can help you further.

It's easy doing this step by step. I suppose you have domain registred already.

    1. You should have at least 2 DNS servers or 2 different IPs on one server.

    2. Go to registrar and add first ip to ns1.yourdomain.com and second IP to ns2.domain.com

    3. Install DNS server in Windows Server 2000/2003

    4. Add new zone for youdomain.com

    5. Create A record for NS1 and A record for NS2 pointing to the same ips you indicated in registrar.

    6. Go to SOA record settings > Name Servers and add the NS1 and NS2 that you created in step 5.

    7. Also check the refresh time and TTL period in your SOA record to make sure how often your dns server will be requested for updates.

    Good luck,
