Hi all! I've downloaded Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator 4.0 (only the simulator) from the Nokia Forum in order to debug my mobile appications developed with Visual Studio .NET 2003 version. First of all, it was necessary to me to install aditionally Java Virtual
Machine. All is ok for the moment. After the installation, added the Simulator in the "Browse with" section of Visual Studio .NET. I open a new ASP.NET Mobile application, put a textbox and a label, and select "Browse with --> Nokia Simulator" and Nokia Simulator
hangs and returns me no result at all. First, I thougth it was a delay problem, but I think that's not the problem. Does Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator 4.0 integrate perfectly with Visual Studio .NET 2003? Do I have to download anything else from Nokia in
order to get my .NET mobile applications running without problems? I'm willing your answers. Thanks in advance. Regards.
MIGUELÓN.

You need to download the whole Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit - Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator 4.0 + Nokia Wap Gateway + ............. Wap gateway is very important for Mobile Apps ! When you want to test your app in Nokia, start the Mobile Browser Simulator
and the Nokia Wap Gateway ! If want work through Visual Studio .NET 2003, try to copy/paste URL of your app directly to the Nokia Mobile Browser Simulator
Thank you. Correct, it was my fault. I thougth Nokia WAP Gateway Simulator was installed with de Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit, but it comes as a separate item. Now Nokia Browser Simulator works really fine. 1) Could you tell me which simulator is the best
to debug the mobile applications in .NET? I'm debugging with Openwave and Nokia, both of them are perfectly integrated with the Visual Studio .NET. 2) Also, I've tried with the Microsoft Mobile Explorer 3.0. First of all, it was really hard to me to find out
a site where I could download the installer. Then, I tried to debug my ASP.NET Mobile application but nothing was loades into the simulator. That's why I tried to load directly the .aspx starting page, but it gave me an error saying "Unable to display content".
I've read Microsoft doesn't offer support for Mobile Explorer 3.0. That's why it's so difficult to find out the download link. Does anybody know certainly what's going on whit Microsoft's simulator? 3) The final question (I'm so newbie to his kind of applications):
In 2002 version, it was necesary to download "Microsoft Mobile Intenert Toolkit" for running mobile applications with .NET. I understand that with the VS .NET 2003 version it isn't. ASP.NET Mobile applications include MMIT 1.0 nowadays? However, I also undestand
you have to be aware of all device updates and so on....is this correct? Thank you very much for your time, really, thanks again.

Download and debug on all simulators You can find. Get all of them from Nokia, SonyEricsson, Motorola and Openwave ! I use all of them to test my apps, since mobile browsers are very different ! I also advice you to read the documentation on WML and XHTML !
Only this way you get information on what it is possible to do and how to do it well - browser functionality, acessibility, specs ................ etc You will also geat a lot of sample apps ! Yes .net framework v1.1 includes the MMIT by default, you only
need to install device update 3 and 4 from http://www.asp.net/mobile/deviceupdate.aspx?tabindex=6 Sorry can not help you with Microsoft Mobile Explorer 3.0, can't get it working my self !
Hi , 1) I feel Openwave browser is the best one for testing ur application and also it do have option for some widely used mobile models to simulate. Since Nokia is one of the widely used model it is also better to check with nokia simulator. 2) Regarding Mobile
Explorer , MS stopped supporting Mobile Explorer so it not avaliable for download. 3) In VS 2002 and .NET V 1.0 Mobile Framework was added as an plug it which was not part of the original release. But with VS 2003 and V1.1 of the framework it was integrated.
Similarly if u see MS keep changing the name of mobile framework in beta it was named as Mobile.NET in V 1.0 it was called MMIT and now it is ASP.NET Mobile Control. I have heared in Whidbey all control by default has mobile support.... but dont know what
will be the case in final version of whidbey..:) Thanks,
