When Mono is complete (it is still in its beta stages). Anyway, it does not matter because why should a dedicated forum be addressed to Mono - .NET is .NET, does not matter what framework it is running off. The only difference will be API calls.
I asked Rob Howard about this the other day - he thinks there's not enough support or justification for the idea to add a new forum for it. of course if this forum keeps filling up with Mono stuff he might need to reconsider that ;-)

> he thinks there's not enough support or justification for the idea to add a new forum for it Cheers Atrax for asking him, but I think he's blind to the amount of support of Mono. There are topics here with less than 20 threads... How much of the Free For
All section talks about Linux/Mono? The reason? No where else to put it!! Like I said in an earlier post: It would be good to have a Mono section on the ASP.NET forums so there is one place to go for all your queries, rather than using ASP.NET for some, and
gotmono.com for others. It would also bring more Mono'ers here, which can help to answer more questions regarding OS independing coding. My $0.02 of course Andrew
Oh, it would also be a good move to show the non-Microsoft (Linux/BSD/Machintosh/Amiga/etc) community that Microsoft is for the development of not just Microsoft programming, but .NET development on any platform. If Mono can work with netBSD, then you can do
.NET development on nearly EVERY system. Check out what netBSD (www.netBSD.com) supports (http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/). And yes, you can run netBSD even on a Playstation2 :) .NET on PS2? Nice :P~ Andrew
:: if this forum keeps filling up with Mono stuff he might need to reconsider that If it is going to the be the same "can my .NET applications run on Linux or Mac", it will be highly unlikely because that will still go to the forums at the Getting Started.
Then it will either be moved here or the new Mono forum. If it ends up here, the guy will get flamed for not going to the Mono forum. If it ends up in the Mono forum, then he
will get flamed for the following reason: >> It would also bring more Mono'ers here, which can help to answer more questions regarding OS independing coding.
More Linux junkies... and we all know how the great majority answers the queries about their "superior" OS, don't we?
:: duuuuhh ok bossman It is amazing that you seem bright from a far; but when you speak, you are so dull... is it just because light travels faster than sound? Seriously, I made a true statement. I just reconfirmed what happened at the given thread when
you said it is impossible to have Mono running on non-MS because ... (fill in the blank because you appear to be so bright):

OK. here's a strange concept. why isn't the MONO community taking up arms and sorting out their own damn forum? bugger it. I'll statrt a MONO forum at my site. give me ten minutes.
