new server controls in widbey

I heard that there will be about 50 new server controls in visual studio widbey, are they going to be separeted from the old VS2003 server controls, is there going to be a new Whidbey toolbox? Or are this 50 controls just upgrades from the previous controls.

There are many new controls. The old controls still exist. All of them are on the toolbox. However, we have added tabs to the toolbox to group the controls by functionality. This way you won't have to wade through all the icons at once.

is there any complete list and infos of new controls ? gridview seems pretty good ... paging sorting directly

VERY interresting ... I think nobody wil use inthe future this poor datagrid :-))) nothing like a menubuilder ?

I have 2 prepositions for the new VS Whidbey :) 1.)Can you enable drag&drop option for controls in html view, this works now only in design view. 2.)In front page there was a cool feature, if you highlated some stuff in design view and then clicked to html view, you were instantly taken to that part in html .

1) Is Implemented, you can drag controls into html view, 2) Is Also Implemented, your selection is persistant across changes in view.

Someone asked about menus above -- the menu control isn't in the alpha, but will show up in the Beta. Hope this helps, Scott
