The PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant Alpha is designed to help you convert PHP pages and applications to ASP.NET. It does not make the conversion process completely automatic, but it will speed up your project by automating some of the steps required for migration.

This is a very early release (Alpha) of the PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant and we need your feedback to make it a great tool. Please use this PHP to ASP.NET Migration Assistant forum to report any bugs or suggestions.

Once it’s finished, we plan to make the migration assistant available as a free download, similar to the Java Language Conversion Assistant that is available today.

    Thanks for your help!

    The ASP.NET Team

Hey, this is awesome! I can keep writing web apps in PHP for all of my Linux/Unix customers, and convert them to ASP for my Windows users. This just opened up a whole new market place for my software. Thanks Microsoft!

You will not be able to convert everything. For the sake of your windows users bennefits (which they have paid to get), you should spend some time maintaining ASP.NET supported features.

I'm getting this error, after the migration to ASP.NET.

Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'medicalClinicDotNet.Global'.

    Source Error:

    Line 1: <%@ Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="medicalClinicDotNet.Global" %>

How will I use this in Visual Web developer or Visual Web Matrix?

Absolved by light we decide to go on."
