I have reviewed *many* threads on this forum regarding installation of Crystal on the server, but I would like to know if anyone has ever successfully done this in a shared hosting environment. As I see it there are the following issues: 1. The hoster must
be willing to perform the install for you. 2. If you create the install, it will be your license key that Crystal is installed with, but as far as I can tell, Crystal would then be available to all other .Net apps on the shared server - is this correct? 3.
Assuming that you are willing to live with #2 and can get the hoster to do #1, do the crystal components on the server throttle performance across the whole box? The license indicates that the version of the runtime that comes with VS.Net is a performance-limited
version of Crystal 4. Although I'm not sure, is it even possible to use Crystal in a shared hosting environment and still comply with the EULA for Crystal? Anyone's experience in these items would be greatly appreciated. Blair
