    Matt,

Other people are posting lists related to the weblog module, so here's mine.

    1. Thanks for providing us with a great module for free.
    2. Sorry to hear you were sick.
    3. I hope you are feeling better today.

    I am lost, totally =(

I have tried all night to install blogger, but nothing seems to work for me.....

    Facts:
    OS: windows 2000
    Framework: 1.1
    DotnetNuke XXL: 1.0.10 xmlskinning version
    Weblogs: version 1
weblogs.dll: Tried both the recompiled since i am on (dd/mm/yy) and the original one...

    Here is what i did...
    1. Run uninstall, delete refferences in table moduledefinitions
    2. made a install from the Weblogs.1.0.sql (I removed the carriage return and i did add the missing insert for the weblogs)
    3. Uploaded the files in all possible ways, from a zip file, with and without sql files and so on, but only to figure out that..
    4. When running the different modules on page, the only one showing is the weblog, not the calender, not the list, not the latest....

What am i doing wrong please help me out m8's I am almost crying ;=)

    TIA

    Otto

I may be wrong here, but the problem is that your using the DNN XXL version. Shaun has labeled that a rogue DotNetNuke implementation. I'm not sure that the blogger module actually works with the XXL version.

Honestly, I don't know if it works on XXL or not. I haven't tried it...

I'm running the same version of XXL. I had to modify blogger's to get it to work on XXL. As I recall, I had to change all the Title references to give them an id of Title1. I don't remember if there are any .aspx files in blogger, but if there are, you will have to remove all references to desktopportalbanner and the associated portal:banner tags.

    Hi All

    Hmmmmm this is very strange.....

Strange, the reference is set like you said they should be.... there are no aspx files, but still i cant make it work.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.... =)

Paperhat: would it be possible to get a copy from your weblog folder and the weblog.dll?? Then it should work or? Or even the source files from your soloution...

liquidpt: Do you plan a new release soon? Think about the multilanguage thing and implementation into XXL...

    TIA

I am hesitant to post my modified code because the link issue that affected Shaun's blog on dotnetnuke.com is not resolved in my modified version. If Matt doesn't release the updated blogger in the next week, I'll hack that fix myself and post it here, but I'd prefer to have a version that has all of his mods over the last few months.

    Hi Paperhat

I fully understand, and I am looking forward for a modified version, whether it is from you or Matt.

By the way i finally got it working, i must admit that i did not look in the right folder when making the changes you mentioned, after that all the controls where showing up right, but now a new problem occurred. Non of the links seemed to work, but i talked to a guy named James from the discussion group on the liquidplatinum page, and he did send me a working weblogs.dll so now everything is working for me too...

I am looking forward for the next release; do you know when it will be??

    4 paperhat:

Since Matt Fraser only works on his module (in his own words) when he's sick

    4. I wish Matt to fell sick often and for long... :)

Seriously, I like the blog feature very much, and I need it very much, but the current version simply DOES NOT WORK (at least without additional tweaking (that I can not perform)).

    Hi Otto,

i have created a version that runs with the latest XXL version (the one with the HTML Skinning). It should also work with the version you are using. It supports international date formats, the link problem is still solved. The only thing missing is multilanguage content but that is not a big deal :-)

If you like take a look at my site. After registration you can see the module running in the webmaster tab.

I have setup a english, german and french forum for discussing xxl stuff. Spanish forum is comming soon.

    It works! It works!
Even on the server with Russian locale. It even installs correctly.

    Matt, you are the greatest!

    Matt,

Could someone help Shaun fix his xml link on DotNetNuke in his blog. It points locally.

    Thanks.
