I receive a 'HTTP 500 Internal Server Error' message when trying to access 'http:/localhost' - I should I go about to troubleshoot what the error could be? I have WinXP Pro with IIS installed. Thank you.
Hi nancy, This could be your IE problem.Go to IE "Tools" then "Advanced" and check "Show friendly error messages" checkbox. Now you access your URL and the real problem will be shown in the browser with line no. I hope this will help u happy programming kathir
Because it's an HTTP error returned that I would assume that IIS is running and is trying to load some page set as default one that breaks it. You might want to check for pages you have in wwwroot and IIS settings then..
