you just set subreport and footer cangrow option true.
Are you want place both subreport in same section ,side by side? if yes, then just set as above.
Ideally each sub-report is place in separate subfooter and set cangrow properties true to all.
Also how can I get them to hold their place on the next page? (for example at the bottom of the page rather than the top)
For always show at bottom, you just true to "always show bottom" properties of particular section. but it is not advisable. because it shows gap between your header and footer. I think you if it is your footer like address of office or some instruction then
its ok. but if this is data , then not to recommened to show at footer.
Report automatically set data. good think that you set common header data in page header and common footer details in page footer which you want always in each page. While report header and report footer always come in single time at the starting and at
the ending respectivelly.

I forget where can I set the footer to cangrow? I dont see it in the section expert.
I have both subreports in group footers. But I have a group footer in the middle of the subreports. So my report goes: group footer with subreport, group footer with data, group footer with subreport. I want it to hold that design on my next page. For
the last group footer, setting the subreport to cangrow gets it to put additional data on the next page. But the first group footer just grows further downt the first page rather than to the next page.
thank you for all your help!

right click of any section and go to section-expert which take you on current section. you can set any properties of another section by clicking on left side treeview menu.
