Several people I know have told me that Access is no longer supported by Microsoft. If this is true, then why are new versions being released?

If you look at this page
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/default.aspx?LN=en-us&x=9&y=9&p1=16632
you can see that Microsoft supports Access 2013 untill 2023 (under extended support), so right now it is currently in their productline and fully supported.

I was under the impression that Microsoft no longer supports MS Access is this true?
