i am new to web API and now i m trying to move on that but the problem is i heard that we can not use web API without MVC, is that right ??
if no then could you please provide me any link where i can study about that

Web API is only included with MVC 4 because of their similarities. You can use Web API in any number of applications.

I use web api's all the time without MVC. You just have to set up a route in your global.asax and import those libraries need it.

i dont know why some body is saying yes and somebody is saying no..even microsoft is saying we can use web api without mvc...but still i m getting confusion about how can i do that , possible send me the url please...

i have already gone through this tutorial ..but the problem is i m working with vs 2010..and for ur kind information there is no any template called web api then how can i sir
