  Cannot Rename My Tables in VS2012 / Sql2012 Express

  I cannot rename my tables in VS2012.

  I can change the name and Keys, but it will not update the database? so none of my changes take effect.

  Hi Bobby,

  Please follow the below steps, you will able to solve your problem

  To change the Prevent saving changes that require the table re-creationoption, follow these steps:

  1. Open SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. In the navigation pane of the Options window, click Designers.
  4. Select or clear the Prevent saving changes that require the table re-creation check box, and then click OK.

  It was already unchecked,

  First: I can't change the names,

  Second: the designer given only allows you to CREATE

  Third: Creating Foreign Keys is much more time consuming

  Fourth: When I do create a copy of the table I have to rename all FK

  This all used to be automatic - what happened?

  You have to check that and click on save then. It will allow you to save.

  I thought it will prevent you from saving if it needs to recreate the table?? I will try it out - thanks!
