This will change. The Microsoft Community Contributor program went through a complete revamp, and in the short term dropped our site from award recognition. This week we met with the program owner, and we will be working with the MCC team to award active
ASP.NET and IIS.NET site members. We hope to have this completed by the April 2013 award cycle.
So, to answer geniusvishal's original question, the MCC badge will be awarded to recognize the contributions of our site members. This is a quarterly recognition and is targeted to start for the ASP.NET site in April 2013.
I dont think only the point system is enough for the hard work we do...
I agree. I think a statue built in my honour is the least they could do :) Not sure what kind of "recognition" you want, especially if you say you don't want to be an MVP.
Personally I think points should be awarded by a third-party who reviews threads and allocates them as deserved. So many posters on here just google what the rough issue is and post the top 3 or 5 links without really understanding the problem, and often
the links are of no relevance. I've even seen links posted to 10 year old sites where the problem is solved in classic ASP. I could probably write a bot that just picks out keywords, googles them and posts some links and what my points soar.

No Need for Statue Aidy I was just Querying about the reward System for ASP.Net Forums for the contributions made by the Members.. For Example Everyone devotes some time to expect some result.. Helping People out is a good thing.. Sharing Knowledge is good
as well but there should be some recognition out there too. MCC was not given for ASP.net forums for the past 2 years i guess. You will find very few MVP for the contributions in asp.net forums. So You see this is the difference.

Thank You aidy for your suggestion. But Let me point out: Everyone is not the same over here.. There are members over here who really care about the problem of the O.P. and try to solve their problem not only by posting links but by replicating their problem
in their system as well; Provided that the O.P. provided the sample code or his unsuccessful attempt.. So You see It is not possible for anyone to give complete solution of a problem. We can try to guide the O.P. to the best possible solution;
If possible try to give sample code as well.. So Its not mere google Search. People out there really devote their time and Knowledge to help the community as much as possible.

Thanks to our moderation team in asp.net forums, they do a really hard work on keeping the forums clean. They don't usually allow necropost here. So you are welcome to alert the moderation team if you see such a post.
But, everyone here have right to 'speak' regardless of their knowledge level. May be they will just find the links from a search engine and post them for 2 points. But it's their problem and we should really not worry about it unless it badly affect for
the forum (Sometimes Google/Bing links can be the answer).
From my experience what I've found is, most of the people who don't really care to share their knowledge and who are in to the 'game' of earning points, loose their interest soon. None of the people who have higher points here gain it by simply providing
links. If someone do that, we really should appreciate him/her for spending time on doing something with no interest on the subject. I've seen many people (Check the first few pages of Hall Of Fame) who spend time composing valuable replies so I disagree to
the fact that you are saying many of the people here post links to gain points.

And within no time, you will be banned from the form. What we can see is there are people who post questions and there are people who answer for them. But there is an high quality underlying moderation process going on. Moderatoin team keeps eye on such
people and ban them from the forum.

I didn't say "most", I said "so many" and I stand by that observation. The classic is when someone has a problem with an error message they're getting from their SMTP server when sending an email and the thread will be 10 posts that are nothing but links
to examples of how you send email from .net. Rather than reading and understanding the actual problem people just get the gist (oh it's an email issue), carpet-bomb some links and hope one hits. There is a thread even from today where the same link has been
posted by multiple people, probably because it's the first hit on google. It doesn't affect me per se, but I imagine it can sometimes frustrate people who start threads. As a bare minimum I'd exact that ther person has at least googled their issue, they
don't need to come here for other people to google it too.

I can understand and totally agree with you in this regard.. Not only this people out there even copy the same links as posted by the previous poster inspite of the fact that the original problem is quite different.. But In my view you cant do too much in
this regard as we dont have control over the mind of the people out there.. All You can do is use the Alert Moderator Button in order to notify the moderators of this site about the issue.. They will do the needful..
I hope it would be better if any member whose title is MVP in MSDN, it would be also shown as MVP or MCC in this place;)
This will likely not be the case. We are working with Dora Chen to have the ASP.NET MVP's consistently recognized on this site, and in the case of MCC, we'd only be showing the badge for those who won the award in this community.
