The other day I was in the Website Administration Tool managing access rules for an "admin" folder in my domain. I set an access rule to allow a group access to the folder but restrict everyone else.
I hit "Ok" to apply the rules and then "Done". An exception was thrown at that point (that I can not reproduce) and now when I go to my domain I get "The service is unavailable."
I've tried several things to fix this. Google has many "solutions" but nothing that has worked just yet. Can anyone help?

I'll also add that when I browse to the page while I'm on the web server, I get the same error.

Hi eagudmestad,
Try to see this kb article and let me know if it can help you to fix this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842493?wa=wsignin1.0 .
If it can not be fixed, could you please try to see the system event log to show us some details error information.
Thanks,
