I have a exisitng and obsoloete Wordpress blog (wildclick.wordpress.com),I have too much stuff tehre buit literally unused. I just don't know a bit about bloging development from a developer's perspective, but
has been blogger since long. I have experience with .net but wondering arond lost when I try to manage my blog using .net. Is there a way to get strated Wordpress development using .net ?
I am ready to switch to another blog host too, if it is something that play well with .net
Please explain how the blig development works ?
What has to be "donwload" if I want to manage my blog ?
How does it deffer frm web site deployment apart from price ? I know most blogs are free but I am asking, solely about development and deployment scenarios.
I just viewed : http://www.funnelweblog.com/ and liked it. Please suggest other similar or better.
My Environment :
Windows Xp Or 7 Or 8 (I've all on differant machines)
Visual Studio 2008 / 2010 / 2012 (I've all on differant machines)
Database Server : MySQL
Controls : AJAX Control's Toolkit
Framework / API : ASP.net (Webforms) / MVC (Level:Intro)/ Entitty fw (Level:Intermediate)
:-) I am sorry, but let me please help, I already have a Wordpress blon since 2005 ( I guess ) and I have used the 'Windows Live Writter' program a few years ago. So I thought the same could also be possible using .net.
But as you said, it is not. So now I am trying to find out a way so that I can mange my blog using a asp.net project may be ? I have no adherance towards the wordpress (of course I like as it is open source and I've used it for years)
But now I really want to refabricate it with a developer's perspective, want to use my very own skills using Ajax Controls Toolkit, asp.net and mysql and to rebuild my entire blog from scratch.
I hope this helps to undestand my question, but if you have any further difficulties understanding my question kindly, let me know.

Yeah, you suggestion does make a stand as it also supports MySQL, and I too, did reviewed it before posting an article here. http://www.funnelweblog.com is something else that I was impressed with. Also reviewed http://wordpressnet.sourceforge.net/.
So we have 3 options here, any comments about which is going to be the best amongst otheres ? Active community and good documentation for any thing we start as a novice user.
[ If any one has something more better please feel free to recommand ]
I still wanted to stick to .net development as far as discussion is concerned, as that is all I know ;-) But yeah, please feel free to catagoraize the way you feel proper I have no problem, as far as I am able to get answers, suggestions, opinions.

I'm puzzled now. You have completely changed your question, and now it is not clear what you are asking.

why to re-invent the wheel??? you have Blogengine.net and it can connected to windows live writer - http://www.lightninghammer.com/setup-windows-live-writer-with-blogenginenet
and blogengine.net is .net based open source blog plaatform...so you can get the source code and modify it as per your interest....
thanks,

This thread is rapidly moving off the topic of ASP.NET development, which is what this forum is about. I have moved it to Free For All.
