I am very interested in start learning ASP.NET 4.5 using C#. Thankfully I have found plenty of great online resources to learn from. Nevertheless, I think I am kinda old fashioned when it comes to learning, that's why I always prefer actual books (Paperback).
I am torn between two great books for extremely reputed authors:
Previous books of both authors have had quite impressive rating by readers. Also, I checked the Table of Contents of both books and they are not very much alike... except the last few chapters...
Could you please help me out which book should I buy? What do you recommend the most, and why?
I would greatly and sincerely appreciate your inputs !
Both look very interesting. If it were my decision, I would probably purchase
Beginning ASP.NET 4.5: in C# and VB by Imar Spaanjaars because it would be a more recent study and more recent exploration on the subject. With this is mind, perhaps some of the information has been updated. Also, keep in mind that
the authors will have different styles of writing.
For some people, the style of writing is quite a factor in the learning process. But for what I gather, Imar Spaanjaars has done a wonderful job explaining the concepts in a step-by-step analysis. Also, I would think that this comprehensive guide contains
most recent technology additions of ASP.NET 4.5.

The first one isn't published yet. It won't be out for a month or so at least.

Do you need sample code in both VB and C#?
