How come every time you reply to a topic you always get email alert saying you replied to this topic. I want email alerts but only when someone replies to topics I subscribe to, it should not send out emails if you have just posted because you know that
you have posted...
Now soon as I submit this I will get a Email saying CriticalError just posted bla bla...
oh and another thing totally forgot, why when replying to topics the Post, Preview and Cancel buttons are only visible from the top..?
I believe there's an option that says "Email me replies to this post" when you reply to a thread. By default it is checked. You can uncheck it if you don't want to get email notifications.
Yes it unsubscribes you from that topic, thats why I totally forgot about this one! you have to first uncheck the tickbox then at the top click Subscribe..
That's the current set-up right now that works. If you dont want to recieve any email notfications at all then you can always turn-off email subscriptions under your Edit Profile > Email and Password tab.

very nice suggestion.
it too get irritated with it, i mean it doesn't make sense to see email containing our own reply
hopefully this will be resolved you may have to add a filter in email client untill then

Can't do that because emails come from automated@asp.net
you can filter out content by word like "CriticalError" but since I am registered on other forums this would not be good!

I don't think so. I made a test on this link: http://forums.asp.net/t/1822179.aspx/1?Test+email+notification. I unchecked the option in my second reply and I'm not getting email notification for that post. Have you tried it?

There's nothing we can really do about that; it's the way the underlying software for the forums works.
