I'm trying to watch my first MVC training video and I'm already confused.
I have VS2010 Professional (SP1 Rel) installed. Yet when I go to create a new Web Project, I only see MVC2 listed as an option.
I tried installing and running the Web Platform installer and it's advising me to install 'Visual Studio 2010 SP1'.
I installed this 'SP1' on 4/17 as a prequisite to SQL Server Express. The SP version is 10.0.40219.
Is that already obsolete? Should I go ahead and install from the Web Platform Installer?

You can download it from here:

(So MVC3 is entirely separate from VS2010's service packs? For that matter, why isn't it showing up on the Web Platform Installer's list? I should mention that my sole exposure to MVC so far is that Pluralsight video on the MVC page, Introduction to Asp.Net
MVC. How old is it?)

It should show up in the web installer that comes with SP1. Do you have SP1 for VS 2010?
