If I would know that I wouldn't answer but do it myself, buy my own island and lie in the sun most of the day.
Grz, Kris.
haha agreed! I'd be happy with a smal little piece of your beach lol.
As for the question, wow is that ever a vague question lol. It's like asking "how can I get rich?".
If you are new to developing, you have a long road ahead I promise, especially if money is your only motivation....
BUT if that doesn't discourage you, try reasearching current webtrends, traffic statistics, and "ways to make money on the web" (ps, dont buy anyones "success packages" lol they are ALL scams)
Keep in mind though, even the greatest of ideas, a website with a great innovative idea still has a higher chance of failing then succeeding. Theres so many angles involved in success that it often spans well beyond the average developers skillset. Marketing
comes into the picture, statistic crunching, and of course, if you get successful, security will definitely be a concern lol.
Good luck on your venture and XIII, if you get that beach, hook a brother up! lol
When the going get's tough, the tough outsource and take a vacation... lol I wish :(
I have found this blog post and its comments to be pretty interesting and inspiring:
How to Create a Million-Dollar Business This Weekend. It steps you through how to get started on your own company, including the step of validating your idea before you invest too much time and money in it. One of the many comments on the blog post is
from Josh Ledgard, a former boss and one of the founders of KickoffLabs (http://www.kickofflabs.com/), which enables you to quickly create landing pages to test your business ideas. Their
blog is also full of useful pointers.
