Excuse my ignorance, I am entirely self taught. I need to free up some space on my SSD. When I built my machine I installed everything I felt necessary in order to develop, test and deploy websites.
Now I am running out of space I am sure there are some microsoft technologies on my machine that I no longer use. The problem is I am not sure which they may be, maybe someone might be able to spot something I have got two of, or would no
longer use.
I only use XML to store data, but was wondering if I delete the databases is a programme on my machine likely to stop working?
My computer is windows 7 x64. The programmes and technologies I most frequently use are Web Matrix, visual web developer 2010, filezilla, web platform installer, C# and Razor.
No porn or temp files. Movies, images ect. are all stored on my external drive. Perhaps I have two lots of the same "big stuff" which is just taking up space?
If you are not using SQL Server then de-install it. Visual Studio will work without it.

All the big stuff you need...that's why it's big stuff. Try deleting all your porn and see if that gives you enough space.

You might consider using something like WinDirStat or TreeSize to see where your space is actually taken up.
