  MVC 3 isn't supported on VS08. Try installing the free VWD 2010

  Firstly, as ricka said, MVC3 didn't work with VS2008, you need to install VS2010 or VWD 2010.

  Then for your question, I prefer to use the Html.EditorFor, you can create the strong type page and then try it again.
