I converted a web application from 1.1 to 4.0 using steps in article
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/ff956194.aspx and received following run time error on post back "The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted. " I fixed the error by adding enableEventValidation="false" for pages in web.config
file. Can it be fixed without turning off event validation?

This thread might help you resolve the issue. Unfortunately no quick fixes.

Thanks. I found the issue. The web application was loading content from different site and it had another __EVENTVALIDATION control. Page cannot have multiple __EVENTVALIDATION controls. This was not an issue in 1.1 framework because __EVENTVALIDATION is
not used in 1.1 framework, the page rendered in 1.1 framework does not have __EVENTVALIDATION control.
