I am facing this strange problem with Chrome browser that has the Adobe PDF reader plug-in enabled.
I have lot of PDF files that are deployed on IIS 7.0 (Windows 2008) server. User clicks on the hyperlink to download these PDF files. Strangly, after lot of efforts and exploring on the net, i am able to download few of the PDF files but still, most of the
PDF links when clicked on chrome browser just displays an empty page.
I have increased the maxAllowedContentLength for download to 50 MB. Also, i tried my hands on changing the content type to "application/octet-stream" from "application/pdf". Still no success.
I found this link on asp.net forum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979543 but I am not sure if i should really go ahead with it as it talks about running these fixes on Windows 2008 R2 and IIS 7.5.
Can anybody please guide??? Help is deeply appreciated.

We see similar problem when opening large pdf files directly in web browser.
Download pdf files then open file on computer is not an issue though.

I am not facing this issue in Mozilla or IE browsers. All my PDF files are less than 10 Mb in Size so i am expecting it to open in Chrome also. But somehow it is not working out.
I think, this is an issue with Google Chromes in-build PDF viewer. I have logged a new bug with new.crbug.com. Following is the link:

Not sure, but it seems this issue has been fixed by Google through Chrome updates. Suddenly, I find my links to PDFs now working :)
I am now using chrome version 18.0.1025.162
