I have frameworks 4.0 but some games require 3.5 for some reason? When I install frameworks 3.5 it says setup error with a blank white screen and I have to exit it and that's the only problem. I don't think it has to do with windows feature being turned
on or off because my brother is playing the same game as me that requires it and it works perfectly for him. He has 4.0 and he didn't touch windows feature once. PLEASE HELP.
I think the problem may be the Because of Framework 4.0 has installed it's not allowed to intall older version. Try Remove the Framework 4.0 , then Install Frmework 3.5 and then 4.0
I removed framework 4.0 and the setup error still occured. Again, my brother didn't have to do any of this and the game he's playing works perfectly with 4.0...

that is never a problem, .net frame works operates independently
Please check the event viewer, you might get some information.
Check if you have installed earlier pre-release versions of .NET Framework 3.5, then un-install it and reinstall the .net Framework 3.5. check this link, it might help you

Type the following command: reg delete HKLM\COMPONENTS /v StoreDirty /f was stated by the answerer and I did exactly that.
There was an error as you can see. Another thing is the answerer said to try using the cleanup tool which I did. As the same result goes, I cleaned up everything from my .NET Frameworks and the error of installing 3.5 still occured. The original poster stated
that he turned on the Windows Feature and then it worked but like I stated in my first post, it cannot be done and my brother doesn't have his one and it's works perfectly. The games I'm talking about are Magicka, Dungeon Defenders and Bastion just so you
can check my system requirements for them (my specs are all good so no need to check that).

I have tried installing it but for some oddd reason after this section, the program shuts down and cannot continue.
